Foster's Lorax Party: The Front Door & Entryway

Tuesday, September 3, 2013

If you know me you know that I love parties. I go all out for my annual Halloween party and now that I have a son I go all out for his birthday parties. It is a lot easier (and cost effective) to go all out when I own an etsy shop that makes decorations. Since I am able to make everything for his parties and have all of the materials all I really have to do is find a TON of time. I am going to split this post up into a bunch of posts because I have so many pictures from his party. So this post is about the front door and entryway.

Foster has loved the Lorax since the first time that he saw it around 15 months. He is literally mesmerized by it. I knew that I wanted his second birthday to be something that he loved and a theme that was really about him.

Foster turned 2 on July 22nd and I had his birthday party on Sunday, July 21st.

Welcome to Foster's Party!
I made this wreath for the front door (the freshly painted, newly black, front door!). It was my first deco mesh wreath and I thought it turned out really well. It had a wooden 2 hanging the middle with yellow chevrons on it!

This was the view when you first walked in the front door!

This table had the Dr. Seuss Lorax book on it for the guests to sign. I made this wreath as well, I wanted it to look like the lorax!
I made a sign and framed it to tell them to please write in the book.
I also designed this subway art just for his party!!!
I made all of the tulle balls myself, which was really time consuming but they looked awesome and really mimicked the truffula trees!

Here are a couple more pictures:

  1. How did you make this deco mesh wreath? So adorable!
