Party Feature: UNDER THE SEA- Owen is ONE!

If you read my ABOUT ME section that you probably know that I own an Etsy shop. If not then you need to read my "about me" page! To do so just click the "ABOUT ME" link at the beginning of this post. My Etsy shop is called "That's So Cute!" and I specialize in custom invitations and party decor. My most popular item, by far, is my custom birthday chalkboard. I was the first shop, yes FIRST, to do digital chalkboard birthday poster signs however many other shops now have copied the idea. I love getting picture back of the little ones with their boards.

I will be sharing party feature here on my blog of the parties that I love! So, here is the first one!

How precious is Owen? I had so much fun designing his birthday board. Life is so much fun when you are turning ONE!
The party was in the backyard with about 40 family member and close friends. He enjoyed the bounce house and riding in his ‘birthday wagon’. The party was an Under the Sea theme, with a cake and some decor to match.

Owen’s mom cut out fish shaped sandwiches and called them “Peanut Butter and Jellyfish’ sandwiches.
The goody bags included sand toys, fish shaped fruit snacks, goldfish crackers, and a fish themed puzzles. The favors for adult were salt water taffy.
Owen’s big brother Aiden was happy to help him blow out his candle. He did not love his cake, but he did make a bit of a mess. Isn's his mom, Laura, beautiful?

Happy First Birthday, Owen! I loved your party.

Slowcooker Mac & Cheese

Monday, August 26, 2013

I have tried TONS of crock pot recipes for macaroni and cheese and they are usually totally disappointing. I was on the search for a good one to use for Foster's 2nd birthday party. With this recipe I finally found the perfect one!

Slowcooker Mac & Cheese

Ingredients:
  • 2 cups uncooked elbow macaroni
  • 4 tbsp butter
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 10.75 oz. (1 can) condensed cheddar cheese soup
  • 2 1/2 cups shredded sharp cheddar cheese
  • 1 cup milk (I use 2%)
  • 1/2 tsp salt
  • 1/2 tsp dry mustard
  • 1/2 tsp black pepper
Instructions:
  1. Insert crock pot liner into crock pot (best invention ever!)
  2. Spray crock pot liner with non-stick cooking spray.
  3. Boil macaroni in water for 6 minutes and then drain. (Don't overcook pasta)
  4. Mix butter and cheese over medium-high heat in a sauce pan. Stir until completely melted.

  5. In crock pot combine sour cream, soup, milk, mustard, salt & pepper.
  6. Add cheese mixture into crock pot and stir.

  7. Add drained macaroni and stir.
  8. Cook on low for 2 hours, stirring occasionally. (Don't let it cook too long or the noodles will turn to mush).
