Sunday Social- June 8th

This weeks questions-

1. When do you take time for you? This is a tough one. I find that if I have free time I usually find something special that we can do as a family or that I can do with my son. In 2014 I have started to d something that I considered to be "mental free time" and that is reading. I am LOVING it. I have read 8 books already this year and if you know me and how busy I am that is quite impressive.

2. What do you find to be your biggest weakness? I have a serious and real problem saying "no". I will bend over backwards until I break for friends (especially ones who will not do it for me, it seems). I cannot not help someone in need. I have trouble saying no to simple things so when it comes to tough things I am even worse at it. This year I am working on saying "no" and watching out for me.

3. What is your biggest attribute? My loyalty. Like I said in the last question, I am loyal to a fault. I will do anything for those that I love and I am 100% a fixer.

4. What is your favorite place to shop online? This is tough... Jane.com GroopDeal.com ModCloth.com are some of my favorites right now.

5. What is your favorite place to kill time? TARGET!!!!!!

Because when don't I love a good Ryan meme?! So hot.

Happy Sunday! I am excited for a Baby Shower that I am going to today for a friend that just adopted a baby boy earlier this month. She is beyond deserving of being a mother and Hudson is incredibly lucky to have such fabulous parents. This will be a great celebration! 1. What is the best New Years Eve you’ve ever had? Honestly, I have a horrible memory and I cannot think of many. Probably one where we went downtown and got a hotel room and went out to bars all night with friends!

2. Are you doing anything for NYE this year and if so what? I am not sure yet. Still trying to decide if we want to do anything or not. {Does that make me sound old or what?}

3. Name a book we should all read come January? I am planning to read the final Hunger Games book since I just saw the second hunger games movie and it lit a fire under my butt to get it read =)

Sunday Social- 12/15

Sorry to post this so late, but better late than never, right? Today has been a very emotional day and I will share the event of today in another post but for now I just cannot emotionally put them into words.
1. What are your favorite Holiday Movies/TV Specials? I cannot tell you how many christmas movies that I love. Here are my favorites:

2. Do you do any volunteering during the holidays? If so, what? If not what would you do?

Actually yes, I am volunteering at a really large food bank here in Central Ohio on tuesday. I get to pack food for families, stock shelves and also take families through to pick our food. I am very excited to help out! I had open time so I wanted to do something to help during that time.

3. What was your favorite toy received as a child for the holidays?

I cannot remember one specific item that stands out more than all others. I guess I would probably say my American Girl dolls and their accessories were really a big deal for me =)

4. What was your must have item in high school for the holidays?

I have the worst memory, probably gift cards to go clothing shopping. I was big on shopping, as most teens are!

5. What do you do on Christmas Eve?

This really depends on what family we are with. In my family we always cooked a fancy meal and opened a present (the kids open a present). In Justin's mom's side of the family there is a big meal/party at his Aunt's house.

Sunday Social- 12/8/13

1. WHAT IS THE WALLPAPER ON YOUR CELL PHONE? Allow me to be the first to apologize for my shattered screen. I am punishing myself and not paying to fix it right now. I am out of warranty and it is almost $200 to just fix the screen at a mall stand so I put a screen protector on so that the shards of glass would quit falling out and cutting my finger/thumb and I am living the life of a cell phone loser. Her is my wallpaper at the moment:

(Go ahead, judge my email number......I have 5 email addresses on there and I just cant keep up with deleting things, le sigh.)

2. WHAT DO YOU KEEP BESIDE YOUR BED? I am not even going to attempt to say what all is in my nightstand but the things that are right next to my bed are these things:

• Lip chap (chapstick- usually EOS brand)
• Cell phone charger
• Kindle Fire
• My medicine that I take before bed
• Pen and notepad (for to-do lists)
• Usually some kind of candy =)

3. WHAT IS YOUR LEAST FAVORITE CHORE? Cleaning bathrooms, mostly just have an issue with the toilets and showers, I make my husband do the toilets..... I am a germaphobe and I just can't handle it without having to shower and want to throw my clothes away, haha.

4. IF YOU COULD ELIMINATE ONE THING FROM YOUR DAILY ROUTINE WHAT WOULD IT BE? Definitely wish that I could just snap my fingers and I would be showered and my makeup would be on and hair would be done! Getting ready just takes so long!

5. WHAT DO YOU DO TO VENT ANGER? Wine, yelling and also in the following ways:

6. WHAT IS YOUR FAVORITE HOLIDAY OF THE YEAR? WHY? HALLOWEEN!!!!! Because it is super awesome and fun, duh! I love to dress up and drink in costumes. My husband and I host an annual party each year that is insane and the best day of the year. I make college frat-grade jungle juice and jello shots and we play flip cup and beer pong and we dance our butts off! Oh, did I mention we put up a Photo Booth? {Sunday Social} These are a few of my favorite things!

It's that time of the week again, Sunday Social!

1. What is your favorite ice cream flavor? I am not a huge fan of ice cream normally but when I was pregnant I think I ate it most days in my 2nd and 3rd trimester. My 2 flavors of choice were Homemade brand Cookies and Cream and UDF Cotton Candy Flavor. LOVE LOVE LOVE!
   
   
   
   
2. What is your favorite smell? Very appropriate to this time of year I love the smell of fresh evergreen/balsam. There is nothing like the smell of christmas tree. I like to buy candles, soap, air fresheners, etc all in this scent. I can't get enough of it!
   
3. What is your favorite TV commercial? I rarely watch commercials anymore because I have had DVR for probably a decade but lately my life is like this commercial:
4. What is your favorite day of the week? Saturday! I get to spend the whole day with my son and husband and we can do whatever we want. We get to sleep in (till about 9 when my little guy gets up), we get to just enjoy every moment of the day with him. Also no dread of knowing that the next day is monday (although I don't mind work days but DH does).
5. What is your favorite article of clothing? My american eagle super super stretch skinny jeggings. They are the most comfortable jeans in the whole world, I wear them all the time. Normally the first thing that I do when I get home is change into sweatpants but these are so comfortable that I keep them on and dont even need to change!
   

Sunday Social- Thankful Style!

This week I am linking up with Sunday Social to discuss what I am thankful for. I just did a post about this for a different link up so I will try and list some different things from what I already told you guys!
I am thankful for our home. Many people don't have a roof over their heads and we have a wonderful one. We built our home and moved in just before we got married (literally like 10 days before our wedding).

I am thankful for family to spend holidays with. It is not always easy to figure out how to split up the time between our families but having a lot of family is definitely a GOOD problem to have! Family is something that I am VERY VERY VERY thankful for.

I am thankful for fantastic and fun friends! This was a picture from the photobooth at my annual Halloween party this year. We had TONS of fun. Halloween is my FAVORITE holiday, I go overboard! I made my blue loofah costume myself this year.

I am thankful for a "success after infertility mom group"that I am a part of. These girls are amazing. We talk ALL the time. The group is super active and we even have local, state and national get togethers. This summer we had our national get together in Austin, Texas and it was a BLAST! Can't wait for Denver next summer.

Sunday Social: Thanksgiving Edition!

Favorite Thanksgiving Memory: This is a tough one! I would say that I always remember getting up and watching the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in the morning while my mom and I started cooking. 
Favorite Thanksgiving Food: Thanksgiving is more about the family tradition for me than it is the food but I would probably say mashed potatoes and gravy!
What is a Thanksgiving tradition that you and your family have: We have never had family living in the same part of the country as us and since my dad's parents passed away when I was young (and they were still 2 states away) so we always celebrated Thanksgiving with our very close family friends, The Wines Family. It was just 3 of them as well (the others were older and had left home for college already) so we had a 6 person holiday celebration! We still do it with them to this day, although this year is an exception because my Mom's brother and his kids and wife are coming from California this year.

This was his Halloween costume that we dressed him up in to ring the doorbell when we arrive at the Wines' house on Thanksgiving day! It was a hit! Foster's 2nd Thanksgiving!

What are you most looking forward to this Thanksgiving: Foster meeting my Uncle, Aunt and cousins! They haven't had a chance to meet him yet so that should be a lot of fun!!!!

3. What do you think is the secret to a good life? Learning what is important... family, friends, and love. You need to surround yourself with people you love who are positive and supportive.
4. What would you most like to be remembered for when you’re gone? I would like to be remembered as someone that was accomplished and never gave up, someone that fought until I had nothing left and then fought more. I want to be remembered for my struggle and then for helping others with their struggle through my practice as a Nurse Practitioner.
5. What accomplishment in your life are you most proud of? Probably doing things that I never thought that I could do. If someone would have told me 10 years ago all of the things that I would have been through in my married life trying to expand my family I would have never believed it, and if I did believe it I would have never believed that I was strong enough to live through it all. But here I am, I'm still alive and I'm still sane (sometimes, haha).
